SummarAI is a browser extension that summarizes webpage content using AI. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
Data Collection
SummarAI does NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal user data.
How It Works
- The extension reads the current webpage’s text content temporarily for summarization
- Text is sent to AI APIs (Google Gemini, OpenRouter) for processing
- Summaries are displayed locally in your browser and are not stored on any server
- No browsing history, personal information, or usage patterns are tracked or shared
Local Storage Only
The following is stored locally on your device only (never sent to any server):
- Language preference (English/Hindi)
- Summary mode preference (Brief/Padhai/Detailed)
- Daily usage count (resets daily)
Third-Party Services
- Google Gemini API — processes text for AI summarization
- OpenRouter API — backup AI service when primary is unavailable
These services process text temporarily for generating summaries and do not retain user data beyond the request.
No Data Sold or Shared
- We do not sell user data to third parties
- We do not use data for advertising or profiling
- We do not track users across websites
